To avoid drinking and driving, Paula Grzelak- Schultz decided to leave her car at the restaurant and take an Uber home after having spent the night out with her husband.
You fear the possibility of returning to a boot, ticket, a mean note from the business, or even no car at all if it has ever happened to you to leave your vehicle anywhere.
The next day, Paula returned to Original Joes in Sherwood Park, Alberta to get her car. To her surprise, none of those mentioned above scenarios had happened. What she did find was a heartwarming note on the windshield from the restaurant.
She shared the note on a post on her Facebook, which is now going viral with a total of over 8,000 shares and 20,000 likes.
Dear Original Joe`s Sherwood Park Guest,
We wanted to thank you for leaving your car parked overnight. I do not know if you had consumed alcohol or at our restaurant or not, but either way, we wanted to thank you for not drinking and driving. Enclosed you will find a voucher good for 1lb of our delicious chicken wings. You are pleased to accept it as a thank you for being responsible. Life is precious, have a great weekend.
It was written by Jay McLean, the managing partner of the restaurant. He says that he started leaving such notes on cars to encourage people not to drink and drive. He takes to heart to fight drunk driving through kindness.
Please share this story to spread such a great message of encouragement!
