Her Husband didn’t come home from Afghanistan but left a letter for her & his baby girl

Todd Weaver was a soldier who passed away after an IED on the second tour of Afghanistan in 2010. He passed away at an early age of 26, leaving behind his loving wife Emma and his little baby Kiley, who will never remember her precious father.

Mrs. Weaver poses next to the tree with Lt weaver and their beloved daughter in 2009. It would be the last Christmas she would share with her father

The story will give you chills as what he left before his final days for his lovely daughter and wife. Emma opened up his laptop two days after Todd’s funeral and got taken aback by what she found out.

Emma was in terrible pain when she heard of the heartbreaking news of her beloved husband and the fact that she couldn’t say goodbye to him. His body was brought home and a memorial service was held where friends and family paid their respects and asked to make a contribution called Children of fallen Soldiers Relief Found.

Lt Weaver’s funeral in October last year

Emma could not believe her eye when she opened the laptop two days after her husband was laid to rest. Before the tragic event, Todd had left his two beloved ladies a goodbye letter.

In both letters, he had carefully selected his words to give them the strength they’d need if he was gone.

This is what he wrote in the letter to Emma:

Dear Emma,

In case you are reading this, it means I didn’t make it home and was not able to remind you once again of how much I love you. I love you very much baby and I always will. Even though I may not be here right now, know that I am watching over you. I am not gone and I will forever be with you in spirit.

I know it will be pretty hard for you but I also know the strength you have in you. Don’t forget that God knows what is best for us before we are even born. It all happened for a reason. You might not believe it now, but you will one day. I just wanted to tell you that you are very important to me and I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful, nice and loving wife.

We have shared the best moments of my life for the last few years. I want you to know I have lived a life that most can only imagine, even though it seems like it was cut short. I got married to the perfect woman. I have an amazing daughter who made my life complete. I wouldn’t ask for anything else more.

Whenever you feel sad, just think back to everything we shared together. Simply look at our lovely daughter and how amazing she is. Be strong for our little one.

Tell her about her Daddy and that I loved her more than anything in this world. The day she was born was the best of my life and she is the best thing that ever happened to me.

Remind her that her Daddy is in heaven watching over her and protecting her every second of life. I love you, Emma. You should never be scared of doing what you have to do to be happy.

You must go on and find happiness in your life. It may seem impossible now but have faith. Better times are coming. My little one and you have a great life ahead of you and I beyond happy to have shared some of it with you.

I love you.Your loving Husband,

In his letter to his 9-month-old daughter Kiley he writes:

Dear Kiley, My Sweetie:

You may not remember me, but I want you to know how much I love you.

I went to Afghanistan when you were only 9 months old. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do. You are the most special gift  God gave me. The day you were born, was the best of my life. My heart melted every time I saw your smile. You were my little sweetie-my life was incomplete until you came to this world. I feel very sorry I will not be able to see you grow up. But keep in mind that Daddy is not gone. I am now in heaven watching over you every day.

You are pretty lucky to have such a great Mom who takes care of you.

Be good for her and help her whenever you can. Be sure to say your prayers every night and be thankful about everything you have. When you grow up and start school, give your best and try to learn whatever you can about the world you live in. Be nice and loving to others and you will see that the world will be nice to you too. And when things won’t go your way, don’t forget that God knows what is the best thing for you and everything will be okay in the end.

You have a great future ahead of you. Enjoy every single day of it. And never forget that your Daddy is proud of you and will always love you. You will forever be my sweetie. With very much love

Your Daddy.

Emma said in an online blog that even though it was hard to read the letters, they brought her peace and courage.

If you found the story moving, please share it with your family and friends to honor the brave fallen soldiers.
