New York City Ballet Introduces Ballet For Special Children

Oh my goodness! That video hit me right in the feels! It is beautiful to see those youngsters get the opportunity to do what so many young girls dream of doing. Without being hindered by their disabilities. All thanks to the New York City Ballet.

The New York City Ballet introduced the program when the parent of a child with Cerebral Palsy asked if they had ever held clinics for children with disabilities. They hadn’t to that point. But, Dr. Joseph Dutkowsky made it a point to change that.

The one thing I will never disagree with is that children with disabilities often don’t get the same opportunities that children without disabilities get. And, it’s beautiful to know that there is a program that offers the opportunity for the children and parents to get to enjoy something that they wouldn’t have without The NYC Ballet.

This video about had me bawling my eyes out. But, not because it was sad. Because of the beauty that being shown. Young girls getting to kick their wheelchairs out from under them and dance the same way any young child would.

The NYC Ballet gets an infinite number of kudos from me. And, I hope they do from you as well. In the video the interviewer started to cry when the program was being described. But, to Dr. Dutkowsky as he said it makes him smile.

You can see the pride he feels for the program. And, the happiness that it has brought to him. I couldn’t even imagine the pride he has for that program. And, him and everyone involved in it, deserve it.  The happiness they are providing those children, is immeasurable.
