That is why this simple recipe, the French toast comes in. The slow cooker is what does the work in the process. The toast is fantastic for those avoiding refined sugar as you get its sweetness from the vanilla and cinnamon. It also makes an awesome base for a healthy dose of syrup powdered sugar for those who want to indulge.
This is the slow cooker French toast recipe.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 2 hours
Bread of choice (around 3/4 of a loaf)
1/2 cup milk
4 tablespoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/2 tablespoons ground nutmeg
1-Put some bread in the greased 6- quart slow cooker.
2-In a small bowl whisk together all the ingredients, starting with the eggs.
After that, add the other dry ingredients and whisk.
3-Add the bread making sure all the pieces are saturated.
4-Before covering with a lid, cover with a dishtowel.
5-Leave cooking for 2 hours.
When it is ready, uncover and amaze with your French toast!
On top, you can add maple syrup and powdered sugar or apricot preserves!
